MOMS Club is a non-profit international organization with over 2,000 chapters and 100,000 members. To see if there is a MOMS Club in your area, click on the More Info link to the left. That is the website for International MOMS Club.

The MOMS Club was started in the fall of 1983 by our founder Mary B. James. The first local chapter was in Simi Valley, California. Word spread about the wonderful support that MOMS Club offers at-home mothers and we became a national organization in 1985.

Goals:
To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay at home to raise their children;
To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers;
To help children in the community;
To perform at least one service project yearly helping needy children.

Principles:
That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment;
That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job;
That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice;
That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way.

Part of belonging to MOMS Club of Marlborough is our dedication to providing community service projects. We will select charities that benefit the children in our community. If you know a worthy cause, please contact us.

Discussion Groups
Discussion groups are a way to get good information on some interesting topics. We have had experts talk to us about breast cancer
awareness, how to start scrapbooking, preparing your child for preschool, travel planning with children, child safety awareness, and preparing for your child's college education.

Executive Board
The Executive Board consists of President, Administrative Vice President, Membership Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you are interested in a position on the board, please let us know.

Meetings
Our monthly business meeting is held the fourth Monday of every month at 9:30am. We discuss membership issues and club business such as forming new committees.

MOMS Night Out
Once a month we can schedule an evening just for moms. We will take turns hosting MOMS Night Out. It can be a movie, dinner, coffee and dessert, board games, a spa treatment...we need some time to have fun and relax too! Although we encourage children to stay at home, they are always welcome.

Monthly Dues
Dues are $25 per year to pay the costs of newsletter production and mailings, brochures costs associated with end of year banquets and other administrative costs. Guests may attend two meetings before deciding to join.

Playgroups
We have many playgroups within our club based on the ages of the children.  Playgroups are not mandatory, but a good
way to get to know members better in a smaller group.

Don't be shy! If you'd like to make new friends, have some other moms to talk to about the challenges of motherhood, please contact us! We are all about supporting each other and new members are always welcome!

Carolyn
Membership Vice President
